WHAT IS THE NATIONAL SAFETY CODE?
The National Safety Code (NSC) is a set of standards the Provinces use when creating their Legislation. The program establishes management and performance requirements for commercial carriers.
As stated on Transportation Canada's website; "The NSC is a code of minimum performance standards, applying to all persons responsible for the safe operation of commercial vehicles. There are 16 NSC standards, ranging from commercial driver licence requirements to carrier facility audits."
Some Provinces have Provincial Regulations as well as Federal Regulations, the Regulations applicable to each Carrier; which they are required to comply with; is dependent upon the nature of their business and whether they operate commercial vehicles within their Province or travel outside of Province.
JERRY BELLIS
Jerry has worked in the Transportation Industry for 40 years. He is knowledgeable on Transportation in North America, Europe and the United Kingdom.
One of twenty-six Third Party Auditors designated by Alberta Transportation Carrier Services, Jerry works with Commercial Carriers all over Alberta in helping them become NSC compliant.
For 20 years, Jerry has consulted Companies of all sizes in a variety of industries on areas of Transportation Compliance. An experienced instructor and classroom teacher, Jerry brings with him considerable knowledge and expertise on Federal and Provincial Hours of Service, Vehicle Trip Inspection, Load Securement, Commercial Vehicle Weights & Dimensions and Vehicle Air Brakes.
MARIA BELLIS
Maria has worked in all areas of Office Management for more than 35 years with a focus on commercial transportation.
Maria is a National Safety Code Transport Compliance Advisor for Bellis Transport Consulting Ltd.
Maria's skills include Driver Log book auditing (Federal & Provincial) I.F.T.A and Pro-Rate reporting.
She is well versed in advising clients on documentation required to pass a Third Party Audit.
