On December 16, 2015, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) published the "Electronic Logging Device and Supporting Documents Final Rule." This rule, often called the ELog rule or the ELD Mandate, requires almost all drivers who complete logs be switched over to electronic logging devices (ELDs) by December 18, 2017. The Canadian Government has mandated that Canadian Federal Carrier’s. must be using ELD’s by June 12th 2021.
